Intraoperative Neurophysiology in Neurosurgery: the Essentials. IInd Edition

December 14 — December 16

Verona, Italy

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Functional neurosurgery has evolved over the past fifteen years from the classic binomial nomenclature of ‘stereotactic and functional neurosurgery’ to the modern concept of surgical approaches based increasingly on the function of the nervous system, rather than on anatomy alone.  From this perspective, Intraoperative Neurophysiology is the quintessential functional approach to neurosurgery, and neurophys-iological mapping and monitoring techniques have become an essential intraoperative tool for neurosurgeons.

This course aims to provide participants with state of the art guidance on intraoperative neurophysiology techniques and their application, from a neurosurgical perspective, through a varied programme of invited lectures, breakfast seminars and round tables. In addition, controversial issues such as automated neuro-monitoring systems, education in neuromonitoring and medico-legal aspects will be thoroughly discussed.

Verona may be the “City of Love” but it offers much more than Romeo and Juliet. Its architectural gems, world renowned opera, the stunning lake Garda and vineyards of Valpolicella all contribute to a unique environment in which participants can share professional experience and meet friends old and new.

We look forward to welcoming you to Verona.

Francesco Sala and Massimo Scerrati
