EANS Research Course 2017

It is planned to hold th 2018 EANS Research Course on the day preceding the EANS Young Neurousrgeons' Meeting in April 2018. Details to be announced as soon as they are avialable.

The 2017 EANS Research Course took place on 6 April 2017 at De Bazel, Vijzelstraat 32, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Course Summary:

The Course will start with an introduction to neurosurgical research by EANS Research Committee Chair, Radoslaw Rola, followed by sessions on how to finance your research, the importance of a research question, and how to critically review a trial / paper.

Workshop 2 after lunch is on how to define a hypothesis, and Workshop 3 on how to wrie a project. The afternoon sessions take us through data collection, analysis and statistics, and how to submit a paper, including a session from Acta Neurochirurgica Editor, Tiit Mathiesen on the review process from the Editor's point of view.

The day concludes with a workshop on how to make an oral presentation.

The day features a mix of didactic lectures, interactive workshops and group discussions. It will provide a thorough and practical grounding in the essentials of neurosurgical research.

EANS Research Course fee for for both EANS members and non-members: €125.

This includes subsistence during the day. Accommodation is not included.

Tickets for the Course Dinner can be purchased at the time of registration for €30.

  • up to 4 weeks before the Course: Full refund
  • up to 1 week before the course: Refund of 50% of course fee
  • less than 1 week before the course: No refund

 

CME:

The EANS Research Course was granted 5 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
